How Stockport Homes are transforming their digital presence with six new websites

How we helped Stockport Homes increase form conversions by 40%

As Stockport Homes Group (SHG) embarked on their journey to develop six new websites for their diverse brands, they wanted to ensure their customers were at the heart of the project. Ensuring their varying customer voices were reflected in each new site, we used a number of tools to really listen, including Hotjar tracking, Treejack navigation surveys, and insights from Google Analytics. Not to mention, multiple customer consultations across different channels and groups were held to ensure every customer need and pain point was addressed. In total, over 1,500 customers were consulted during the project. 

 

New designs were drawn up for the sites so that they stayed true to each company’s mission and values, with just a hint of SHG to bring them together as a group brand. The designs also incorporated accessibility functionality so they supported effective communication with each audience group. Together, these developments removed the reliance on a one-size fits all approach and gave them a refreshed identity. The results speak for themselves with increased engagement and a 40% increase in form conversions so far. With one website still in development, we’re excited to see the overall results once the project as a whole is complete.

The right audience

SHG understood that their main site needed changing as it catered to both a customer and corporate audience. They wanted to create an additional site so both audiences' specific needs were looked after and that all the information was relevant to the right users. The Stockport Homes’ site now has everything their customers need, such as easy ways to get in touch, pay rent and report a repair as well as additional information that their customers can access in just a few clicks. Whereas the Stockport Homes Group’s website can now focus their sights on developing partnerships, showcasing their services, and delivering news on behalf of their brands.

Succinct search functionality

For the Your Local Pantry and Viaduct Housing websites, particular search elements were specified so that users could find their perfect home or nearest pantry. During the development of these two sites, we added an intelligent search and map functionality. This means users can now simply input their search parameters and get their results instantly in a list or map view to find their local pantry or nearest potential new home easily.

A user-friendly design

SKylight, as a Charitable Community Benefit Society, is now designed as the main hub for people in the community to come together and donate or recycle furniture, volunteer or seek guidance on employment opportunities.

 

After working closely with Stockport Homes on this project, each website now has a unique feel, whilst retaining a clear sense of being part of the SHG family. They all cater to the right customer audience and address current pain points and challenges, making them easy to use and navigate. Plus, the key features of each site have been given the prominence they deserve.

What the future looks like

As we come into the final stages of this exciting project, we’re excited to see the launch of the final website, ‘Carecall’. ‘Carecall’ helps those who are at risk of falling within their homes, so the ability to purchase products and services from their website to help with this was necessary. We’re developing an eCommerce function into the new site so people are able to shop online easily to ensure a safer home for SHG’s at-risk customers. 

We can’t wait to see the success of this amazing work and how much it supports Stockport Homes Group’s tenants, especially since they were at the heart of this project from the beginning.

About the Stockport Homes Group...


Stockport Homes Group are Stockport's largest landlord, managing over 12,000 properties on behalf of the Stockport Council and private landlords nationally for over 30,000 customers. The organisation has gone from strength to strength during the last few years and the team is now over 800 colleagues strong.

The Prodo and SHG partnership began way back in 2015 when SHG were looking to increase their online presence quickly and efficiently due to time constraints. With the two teams working closely together, the launch of their website was a great success, giving SHG a unified brand identity across the companies, offering their customers an easy way to get in touch and receive relevant information. 

As the company began to grow and change, more individualised and specific websites were needed to address each company’s different customer concerns. Due to the size of this project, SHG had to put this work out for tender. But after six years of working together, we here at Prodo were delighted to be reappointed.  

We developed a plan together to incorporate different designs and new functionality necessary for each site, maturing their website presence as well as each brand’s own identity. Having the previous groundwork completed for the websites before these developments meant we could add the new functionality with ease.
