About the role

About the role

Working within a large and highly experienced group of capable programmers, you will be part of our Customer Success team, helping develop cutting-edge user interfaces for web, tablet and mobile environments.

 

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with both new and existing customers to support existing applications, primarily using Umbraco CMS, or developing mini-projects upon their existing Umbraco infrastructure to add core new features based on our client's digital roadmaps.    

Key responsibilities for this role

  • Maintenance of existing  web applications with SOLID and scalable architecture 
  • Liaising closely with the CS Desk Manager to complete support tickets and receive functional briefs to complete small project work within existing applications.
  • Identifying, investigating and implementing novel solutions to satisfy client requirements
  • Implementation and customisation of open source / commercial CMS products (typically Umbraco)
  • Ensure web applications meet current web standards & accessibility requirements
  • Ongoing development of existing applications
  • Using Jira Ticket Desk to manage your workload and provide updates on tickets in flight.
  • Liaising with Frontend Developers and Designers to ensure constraints and functionality requirements are met where necessary
  • Working with Project Managers to deliver within deadlines specified
  • Collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to make projects shine

10 essential skills you need to have

  1. Minimum of 3 years web development experience
  2. Knowledge of common software engineering patterns
  3. Proficient knowledge of .Net and ASP.Net Core
  4. Applying DevOps principles in MS Azure, utilising pipelines and Git repositories for slick CI/CD
  5. Experience using Visual Studio
  6. Experience of industry best practices e.g. general MSDN code compliance
  7. Develop and maintain Umbraco websites and portals using the latest versions of Umbraco (ideally Umbraco 13 onwards) and Umbraco Cloud, ensuring optimal performance and a fantastic user experience.
  8. Strong interest in future of web development
  9. Strong communication skills
  10. Pragmatic attitude to problem-solving

Some things that might give you that extra edge… 

  • Experience developing with and extending Umbraco CMS
  • Digital agency experience – or somewhere with similar pace 
  • Experience developing with and extending other CMS 
  • Experience of writing reusable frontend code and components with standards like BEM
  • Experience of frontend frameworks such as React, AngularJS and Aurelia
  • Building robust integrations with third-party APIs (SOAP and RESTful), as well as our own in-house ones
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using .NET C#.
  • Bonus points for experience with React Native and Expo Framework, contributing to internal app development.
