Reporting into our UX&D Manager, your day-to-day will involve researching, designing, developing and evolving the Prodo product ecosystem. It’s really important to note that the goal of each of the digital solutions we sell is to make every-day human-to-business interactions simple, easy and appealing to promote digital inclusion, thus driving user adoption.

Made up of three core components, this role will support the following:

Creatively Inspiring Change through Digital Transformation

We are incredibly lucky to operate within a sector that is ripe for disruption and is actively going through an always-on digital transformation process. The clients we work with are large, public services organisations who have significant requirements and budgets for enterprise-level solutions making it an extremely attractive place for our creative, development and delivery teams to work.

Working within the UX&D Innovations team, this role is all about designing and creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences.

Our goal is to revolutionise the Housing sector with award-winning designs and experiences for Housing agencies across the UK. Built with data in mind, our websites will drive conversion and increase support for our 40+ clients. Day to day you will be doing anything from running discovery sessions, engaging with end users and mapping out user journeys, to structuring the IA of a website, creating interactive prototypes and innovating on new experiences and functionality.

Expectations and foundations of this role:

  • You will identify the needs of different user groups and translate them into user journey maps.
  • You will concept and develop low fidelity wireframes through to high fidelity designs and prototypes using industry-standard tools (Adobe Suite).
  • You will be working directly with front-end and back-end software developers while working closely with the PM team to understand the requirements of each task.
  • Taking time to understand the user stories presented and then designing solutions in an iterative continuous improvement-based workflow.
  • A strong understanding of frontend development is an advantage but not a requirement

Required skills and knowledge for the role of Digital Designer:

  • 4+ years’ experience in UX and UI design for software and business systems
  • Strong knowledge of UX and accessibility best practice in the public sector (WCAG AA)
  • Confident working with and presenting to clients
  • Experience of working on a large software platform and eco-systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work and cope with competing demands
  • Familiarity with common scheduling, task and issue tracking tools such as Jira
  • Strong work ethic, analytical mindset and a positive attitude to dealing with people
  • Hands-on problem-solving attitude with the ability to generate ideas and solutions, and adapt and learn new technologies on the job
  • Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual, as well as being able to integrate and operate as part of a team
  • Further establish a user testing strategy with clients to understand current usability and establish improvements and developments
  • Work with the CX team to understand customer challenges that can inform your decision making
  • Work with other designers to define and maintain UI/UX standards that ensure uniformity across a growing portfolio of products
  • Evangelise Design Thinking and articulate how User Research drives actionable product outcomes
