Website trends are changing all the time, here's a snapshot of the latest things you need to know about when thinking of building a new site to ensure optimal web performance...
A huge trend on the increase is Chatbots - so artificial intelligence actually answering your questions online.
Another trend is the increased awareness of interstitial anxiety, which is the moment from when you actually click a button or perform an action. We’re going to see a lot more interactions, a lot more animations to see that something is actually happening after we've performed an action online.
'Landing page first' mentality
Another trend is ‘landing page first’ mentality. A lot more people are accessing websites through either social media referrals or paid referrals, meaning they're being directed straight to a landing page.
Something else to be aware of is skeleton screens - partially loading portions of a website before you see the remainder of the content. This really helps bring down website loading times, especially on a mobile device.
And finally, we’re going to see more brands adapting mobile-first design - meaning increased user accessed websites via mobile devices. We'll no doubt see real focus put on those mobile designs before they actually get to desktops.
