Why should you consider email marketing?
Well, with no paper, printing and postage costs, it’s far cheaper than traditional mail. As people open their emails when they chose to, it’s less intrusive than telemarketing, and without the need for tear off slips, and reply paid envelopes it generates a far better response. And that’s just the most obvious benefits.
Consumer attitudes to receiving email marketing are changing with the vast majority happy to receive emails from companies they have given permission to. Marketing by email has grown by almost 50% since 2004 with spending in 2006 set to top £178 Million.
Think about it. Whilst the majority of emails you will receive this month will be from foreign spammers selling fake watches and dubious medical cures for being perfectly normal there may be the odd one from a business you recognise. One whose site you visited recently while researching a purchase that you are yet to complete. Are you tempted to open it? It may have further information on the very product you are looking for, or even a special offer to entice you back to their site.
Email marketing relies on having a correctly optimised website that generates incoming enquiries through compelling data capture points. But it is also the reason why you need to ensure your site gets good traffic levels that generate a steady flow of enquiries.
