Linked in pageWhat is LinkedIn and how does it work?

We love referring to the worlds most successful Wiki for a definition, and they state:
‘LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site.  Launched in May 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking.  As at October 2009 it had more than 50 million registered users, spanning more than 200 countries worldwide.

But what does that mean?  Well linkedIn is the business equivalent of Facebook, it is where professionals create profiles of themselves and then use the ‘networking’ element online to gain new introductions and contacts.  Allowing you to get in touch with old colleagues, suppliers and clients and widening your network of business contacts.

LinkedIn is the most predominant player in the business social networking platform, and has become so popular because of its’ ease of use, and functionality.  In much the same way as Facebook allows you to create a profile, LinkedIn allows business people to give an online biog of who they are, what they do, who they do it form and most importantly allows them to state what kind of new business or opportunities they are looking for.

If you are aren’t already using LinkedIn you should seriously consider it, it is an incredibly powerful tool for both sales lead generation as well as recruitment.

And guess what LinkedIn allows advertising, which means you get access to business decision makers who might be interested in your products or services.  Our social media experts use the latest profile-based techniques to ensure that our social media adverts on LinkedIn are placed in front of the right decision makers.
