Orbit Developments

A space to manage property and data

www.orbit-developments.co.uk

Prodo Digital were commissioned to design and build a website for Orbit Developments - one of the country's largest private commercial property development and investment companies, operating in the North West and South East of England and the USA, which includes an easy to use, fully bespoke property/space management system seamlessly integrated with Umbraco CMS.

The system built allows Orbit to manage property and space data including:

  • Availability
  • Various Property attributes (e.g. address, postcode etc.)
  • Various Space attributes (e.g. dimensions, prices, features etc.)
  • SEO (e.g. SEO friendly URLs, Pages titles, Meta data etc.)
  • Galleries of images (with AJAX multiple file upload, images automatically resized for various usages)
  • Floor plans
  • Brochures / Downloads
  • Site search mappings (ability to create rules that define what should appear in search results)

The project also included the migration of existing property / space data into the new system. This involved writing many scripts to convert existing data into the new format. 1000's of records were successfully migrated reducing the amount of manual data input required.

Another key feature of the backend system is it also collects any enquires made on the website for export to Orbits CRM systems. There is also an advanced search that can filter results by specific features (e.g. must have air conditioning and parking)

Other key functionality is the ability for users to create their own shortlists of spaces / properties.  They can then do a mass enquiry which is emailed to Orbit staff (also logged in database).
Users can also make enquires in other forms e.g. space enquiry, property enquiry, quick general enquiry.
