The MBNA Chester Marathon is organised by Active Leisure Events.
2010's inaugural race was listed in the Runner's World Top 10 UK
marathons and described as "a classic in the making."
Active Leisure Events needed a method of communication that
raised awareness of the event and helped them keep in touch with
runners over their period of training. The client wanted to be able
to share training tips and keep competitors motivated and
up-to-date with details of the event and so email marketing was an
obvious and effective solution.
As well as designing a
unique and colourful website for the client and developing a
social media strategy, Prodo Digital recommended the use of
custom-built email templates to provide an effective integrated
digital campaign. Prodo Digital delivered training to the client
enabling Active Leisure Events to edit and adapt templates for
future campaigns. Use of links on the template also gave the client
the opportunity to drive more traffic to their main website.
Email marketing allowed the client to directly target
participants and interested people in a direct and informative
manner. The design of the templates complemented the client's
website and social media helped to further strengthen the overall
brand image and the identity of the MBNA Chester Marathon.
