Yell has announced it will be teaming up with Google to provide managed search marketing service for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The business directories company said the new Search Marketing Service will help its base of 450,000 SMEs promote their businesses on sites such as Google and to acquire new sales leads.
Yell said it would give its clients access to millions of UK internet users through a simplified programme.
Under the new alliance, Yell is to become a Google AdWords Authorised Reseller, allowing it to manage and buy Adwords on behalf of its business clients.
Adwords is a pay-per click programme that allows businesses to run ads on the search engine site linked to pre-defined keywords.
"In these tough economic times, Yell will now be able to offer the benefits of targeted, accountable and cost-effective online advertising via Adwords to thousands of small businesses in the UK," said Google UK's director Matt Brittin.
