Mad About Clocks is a website that offers an unique and unusual range of clocks and clock related gifts who wanted to make a splash on the shopping scene.

As the company launched in the final quarter of 2007 they realised they needed to have a strong PR campaign to complement their marketing campaign already in place at a very competitive time in the market. Our brief was to launch the brand through PR to a wide variety of media in order to correspond with the wide variety of gifts on offer – as they have over 400 gifts available on the site – and to focus on the quirky and funky angle of some of the products.

The strategy was based on building up the profile amongst the media quickly to correspond with the seasonal timing of the launch as well as piggybacking on the increase of interest in online shopping.

The website captured the imagination of the press straight away with some of the quirky products including the charm bracelet clock being featured as part of Christmas gift articles in publications such as Woman’s Own. We also secured massive product placement in the national titles. The Telegraph featured two key products - the clock cufflinks and the charm bracelet - as part of their yearly 'Watches supplement'.
