Main Job Purpose

This is a highly creative design role so you will be working with likeminded individuals designing digital projects (websites, online marketing campaigns, interactive interfaces etc.) for an extensive client list covering a wide range of sectors.

Your focus will be on creating high quality professional designs / layouts based on sound User Experience / User Interface design principles.  You will also have a working knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and how design / construction can affect this.

Typically designs will be integrated into various applications (e.g. CMS platforms) so it is expected you will become familiar will these systems.
 
You will be reporting to the Technical Director, regularly liaising with Account Managers, peer developers and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating Visual Designs / Concepts for websites
  • Translating Designs to XHTML / CSS
  • Maintenance of existing websites
  • Identifying, investigating and implementing novel solutions to client requirements
  • Ensuring web applications meet current web standards & accessibility requirements
  • Responsible for bug fixing
  • Creating & implementing test strategies

Management Responsibilities

No direct management responsibilities. Possibility of acting as a mentor to junior developers.

Skills / Attributes Required

Required

  • XHTML / CSS 2, JavaScript, DOM etc
  • W3C web standards, Semantic Markup
  • Excellent practical knowledge of Accessibility (WAI A, AA, AAA)
  • Flash / ActionScript
  • JavaScript Frameworks e.g. jQuery, MooTools etc…
  • Photoshop / Fireworks
  • Strong interest in future of web development / design
  • Team Player, can do attitude, willing to transfer knowledge

Desirable

  • Knowledge of ASP.net  (Preferably C# )
  • Knowledge of ASP (classic)
  • XML, XSLT, XPath etc
  • Sliverlight
  • AJAX
  • Experience of working with CMS / Ecommerce Platforms 
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 200x, IIS etc

Basic Salary Range: Dependant on experience
Benefits Package: BUPA, 23 days holiday per annum, plus birthday off
Hours of employment: 37.5 Hours per week. 8.30am to 5pm (1 hour for lunch)
