An IT Support professional is required to join Prodo, a vibrant full service web design and creative agency with an impressive client list across multiple sectors. You must have strong general IT support experience but specialist knowledge in internet related technologies / environments. Ideally you will hold relevant Microsoft certifications (MCP etc). We are looking for a dynamic and flexible individual who is comfortable working under their own initiative as part of a small integrated team in a customer focused environment. This role will allow the successful applicant room to develop and progress.
Main Job Purpose
This is a great role for a support person passionate about the web to join somewhere exciting and creative.
You will be reporting to the Technical Director, regularly liaising with the Web Team, Account Managers, and with clients.
Your focus must on providing efficient support with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up development environments for web team
- Setting up production environments and assisting with "go live"
- Assisting web team with testing websites / web applications
- Documenting setups / information – e.g. Technical Info, Domain, Password, FTP etc
- Management / Maintenance of Windows IIS based web servers
- Management / Maintenance of MS SQL Server databases
- Management / Maintenance of domains / DNS
- Various license management / purchasing
- Being instrumental in backup strategy / version controls systems
- Implementation and management of central knowledge base / ticketing system for clients
- Offer support to customers for:
- Hosting
- Email
- Product / website/application support e.g. CMS / Email Systems / Bespoke solutions
- Provide Ad-Hoc day to day in-house desktop support when required
Management Responsibilities
No direct management responsibilities. Possibility of acting as a mentor to junior developers.
Skills / Attributes Required
Required
- Windows Server 2003
- IIS 6 +
- Internet protocols – IP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS etc
- Domain name registration / management
- .Net framework configuration
- SQL Server 2000 / 2005
- XP / Vista Desktop / Office applications / Email
- Experience of testing web applications
- Knowledge of Version control systems / backup
- Knowledge of web based CMS systems
- Knowledge of web browsers
- Firewall / Router / Networking knowledge
Desirable
- WAI Accessibility knowledge
- XHTML / CSS skills experience
- MOSS / SharePoint Experience
- Intranet development
- CRM systems (e.g. MS Dynamics)
- .Net CMS Systems such as Sitefinity, Umbraco etc
- Knowledge of ASP.net C# development
Basic Salary Range: £18,000 - £25,000
Benefits Package: BUPA, 23 days holiday per annum, plus birthday off
Hours of employment: 37.5 Hours per week. 8.30am to 5pm (1 hour for lunch)
