It is time for the second blog post showcasing some of our great link building methods here at Prodo Digital. In our first instalment we talked about 3 methods which we use, now here are 2 more (How generous are we?)
…On the 7th day she created MyBlogGuest
This is a great place to interact with bloggers and catapult your content into the blogging sphere. What is improving about Myblogguest is Ann Smarty and her team are trying their best to cut out the spam – and that’s great for everyone right? Here is a nice visual representation on how the site works.
Not only do we have the awesome gallery to post content but we can also interact with all the bloggers who have joined up to the site in the form of direct message or the forums. Direct messaging may seem a little intrusive but the general response I have received has been great.
Listen, if you have great content in your armoury, approach bloggers within the appropriate niche with it and sell it. For example I recently created some content on a technology event which was happening within the next few weeks (It was near enough a press release for the event) I approached the blogger through a direct message on MBG and said ‘Hey there is a really great event that is happening which you haven’t covered on your site would you be interested in what I have created….’ The response was extremely welcoming and positive.
You can also check out the forums which include:
‘Looking for guest author’
‘Looking for a blog’
There are ample amount of ways you can find really great opportunities on Myblogguest but for first hand direct access to the moderators of the site, great writers, bloggers & SEO’s you can join their twitter chat every Thursday @4pm GMT #myblogguest – which moves us nicely onto our next method (The wonderful world of Twitter).
Twitter is a great medium for building relationships & discovering information.
Answering questions, helping people out or just simply chatting to people within your industry all help towards achieving:
- More knowledge
- Better relationships
- Links
And we all like to help people out right?
Some opportunities on Twitter are quite obvious:

‘Link Building Opportunity Here’
You can be directed towards these through several #hashtags
#guestpost
#journorequest
#linkbuilding
#contentmarketing
The latter 2 seem to bring back more informational results but still great for gaining knowledge all the same.
There are so many ways to acquire links through twitter and Rand Fishkin from SEOmoz lists some creative techniques here. He discusses 8 tactics for building links & relationships in the twitterverse – this is a great post which opens your eyes to utilising the power of twitter to build links. One of our favourite tactics has to be number 6 – answering people’s questions and generally helping people builds good everlasting relationships which will benefit your campaigns in the long term. Our outreach specialists have had some great success through twitter & long may it continue!
So that’s it for the second part, keep visiting the blog where in the coming weeks we have the second part of SEO jargon buster & much more from the digital world.
